Thursday 28 January 2021 – Y5 Open Evening (for entry in September 2022).
On behalf of Boston Grammar School, I would like to welcome you to our Year 5 Virtual Open Evening. One of the biggest selling points of the school is the chance to come in and meet our fantastic staff and wonderful students. Whilst we are unable to give you that chance right now we hope this online event gives you a flavour of who we are.
The videos include presentations by the Headteacher, the Head of Y7, SENDCo, Head Boy and Head Girl. There are some interviews with some Y7 and Y8 students, as well as a guided tour, split into four separate clips, of the school.
An online version of our Year 7 prospectus is available for you to read and gather more information about our school. We have also added some activities your son may want to engage with below. Furthermore, you can find more detailed subject specific information, covering all year groups, on our website under the heading 'Learning & Curriculum'.
You can register your son for the 11+ tests by completing the online form found in the yellow box above.
If you have any questions or need additional advice once you have watched our presentations, please do get in touch with us by telephone or email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
Spot Florence Competition.
We hope you enjoy our guided tour of our school given by Florence the dog. Florence’s face appears in our films but can you count how many times she shows up? If you register for the 11+ test and think you know the answer, please send us an email to email@example.com with your contact details and the number of times you think you have seen Florence.Correct entries will be placed into a draw and the winner announced. The competition will close on the 31st March 2021.
Sample Subject Tasks
We thought it might be nice to provide you with some sample subject tasks - you are not 'expected' to complete these, it is totally a free choice and has no bearing on your application. We have deliberately tried to provide different subjects with varied degrees of challenge, so if you want to have a go at something you can. A couple of the subjects have set them up as competitions but if you are proud of something you've done send evidence of it to us and we will be sure to look at it and might even use it for a display in school!
If you want to send anything in to us please do so via email to firstname.lastname@example.org by the 31st March.
